About Us: Our History
Plympton Conservative Club was founded in 1900 and quickly became an important part of the local community. Established by a group of likeminded people under the guidance of the Association of Conservative Clubs, the social club has been a members-only organisation since the day it opened its doors.
We’ve served our members and the local community for well over a century and are proud to be one of Devon’s largest and most popular Conservative clubs. With about 3,000 established members and an ever-growing number of new members, we’re one of the fastest growing members-only venues in the region.
The social club provides people with a welcoming and friendly place to socialise, have a drink and enjoy a delicious meal. We also have a number of different social and recreational activities available for the enjoyment of our members. This includes several sports leagues, plenty of bar games (including darts, snooker and pool) and a skittles alley. Live entertainment is a staple at the club, with everything from music and discos to screening sports games and pub quiz nights.
Plympton Conservative Club are members of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) and are proud to have been the runner up of the Plymouth CAMRA ‘Club of the Year’ award in 2015 and 2017. We serve a selection of excellent beer and ale (including local favourite, Sharp’s Doom Bar) and have regularly rotating ‘guest beers’, so our members can sample lots of different drafts.
